CLIENTS, COMMUNITY, AND COMPASSION
As a business, we’re often approached by charities and community groups, keen to have our support for their events or wider initiatives.
Born and run in Suffolk, we naturally look to help causes which have a link to our region, and one which is at the centre of our charitable endeavours this year, is Ormiston Families.
Here, we share a little more about the organisation, what it does, and why we choose to support it.
WHO ARE ORMISTON FAMILIES?
Here in the East of England, it’s the leading family focused charity, and supports children and family networks to cope with the challenges they face.
WHAT SERVICES DOES IT DELIVER?
A huge range of support, from mental health services for children, to helping young people bridge the gap between home and school, or assisting those who have faced imprisonment.
WHAT’S ITS BIGGEST GOAL?
To make families resilient and create environments that enable children and young people to have the best possible opportunities in life.
WHAT SORT OF EVENTS DOES IT CARRY OUT?
People can get involved in supporting Ormiston by being sponsored to participate in all sorts of sporting events and challenges.
Beyond that, the charity carries out its own unique events, such as its Walk With A Fork.
WHAT’S WALK WITH A FORK?
This is a great event, which we very much look forward to in Suffolk, and this year takes place in September. It’s an 8 mile walk around the estate of Helmingham Hall and includes lots of food stops, where you can taste delicious produce created by East of England food and drink companies.
WHY AND HOW DOES ANDREW THOMPSON & ASSOCIATES SUPPORT ORMISTON?
We carry out several fundraising activities in our office during the year, as a means of supporting the organisation, and are becoming more involved in the charity’s wider activities across the region (watch this space for more information).
It’s a cause we chose to support because we love the ethos of helping make families more resilient, and enabling people to reach their full potential.
Family units are so vital to the health and wellbeing of everyone in our community, and Ormiston very much has this ethos running through its daily work.
HOW CAN WE FIND OUT MORE ABOUT AT&A’S CHARITABLE WORK?
We’re always happy to consider new ideas and to talk more about our recent work with charities and social enterprises, both as a broker, and as a business which is supporting our community. Drop our team an email to discuss anything further.
